(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) Attou ,Nora Taghrid; DAHOUA ,Sabah
This study is part of the field of French as a Foreign Language (FFL) teaching in Algeria. It investigates the impact of the pedagogical toolbox on improving written production among first- and third-year middle school students. Learners often face difficulties related to limited vocabulary, poor organization of ideas, and linguistic errors. The pedagogical toolbox is considered a support tool that facilitates the writing process and helps learners produce better texts. The research is based on an experimental study conducted in middle schools in the province of Aïn Témouchent, as well as a questionnaire addressed to French teachers. The findings reveal that the use of the pedagogical toolbox enriches learners’ vocabulary, improves the coherence of written texts, and increases their motivation toward writing activities. Therefore, this tool can be regarded as an effective strategy for developing writing skills in FFL classrooms.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) BOUCHAALA ,Fadéla; BENBASSAL, KHEIRA SOUAD
This dissertation examines the role of myth and legend in Le Ventre de l’Atlantique by Fatou Diome, with particular emphasis on their contribution to the preservation and transmission of African identity. The study demonstrates that the author draws on oral tradition, folktales, and mythical figures to preserve collective memory and to explore the transformations of identity brought about by migration and globalization. Through an analytical approach based on narratology, the poetics of space, and postcolonial studies, this research highlights that myths and legends are not merely narrative elements but also serve as instruments of cultural resistance, resilience, and the construction of an open African identity capable of reconciling traditional heritage with modernity.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) MANKOUR ,Ghaoutia; KEBDANI ,Sabeha; MANSOUR ,Mohamed
This research falls within the field of sociolinguistics and focuses on the linguistic practices of Algerian football players. It aims to analyze the role of code-switching between French and Algerian Arabic in the expression of emotions and the construction of social identity. The corpus consists of ten speech extracts collected from interviews, press conferences, and sports interactions broadcast on YouTube and TikTok. The study adopts both quantitative and qualitative approaches to identify the forms of code-switching and their sociolinguistic functions. The findings reveal that players frequently use Algerian Arabic to express emotions such as joy, hope, frustration, and pride, while French is mainly used to structure discourse and discuss technical and professional aspects. Code-switching therefore appears as a discursive strategy that enables players to adapt their communication to the media context while asserting their social and cultural belonging. This linguistic practice also reflects the multilingual reality of Algerian society and the social representations associated with the languages involved.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) CHETOUI, Chahira; DAHOUA, SABAH

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) BENCHIHA ,NOUR; Benslim ,abdelkrim
This thesis analyses the novel Broken Soul by Akira Mizubayashi, focusing on the representation of trauma and the process of personal reconstruction. Through a combination of narratological, thematic, and existential approaches, the study explores how the narrative transforms a traumatic experience into a meaningful continuity of life. The analysis demonstrates that the narrative structure reflects the effects of traumatic memory, while the Japanese concepts of mono no aware and kintsugi shed light on the symbolism of loss and repair. Furthermore, Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy provides a framework for understanding the protagonist’s search for meaning. The study concludes that the novel presents reconstruction as a process based on memory, transmission, and the integration of suffering into a meaningful life trajectory.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) KADI, Amel; SIDI YACOUB ,Aïcha
This study focuses on self-writing in The Impossible Return, a work by Amélie Nothomb, and examines the narrative strategies through which the writer transforms her personal experience into literary discourse. The aim is to understand how memory, constantly shifting and reconstructive, becomes a writing material and contributes to the construction of identity. The analysis shows that the text constantly oscillates between autobiography and autofiction, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction. The return to Japan, a central space in the narrative, acts both as a trigger for memories and as a revealer of the gap between recollected memory and lived reality. Through the narrative voice, the presence of figures such as Pep, spatial and temporal fragmentation, and intertextual references, the narrative stages a subjectivity that is constantly reconfigured. Thus, the work illustrates a form of self-writing based on the transformation of lived experience, where telling one’s life is less about faithful restitution than about its reinvention through the resources of fiction.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) ABDELOUAHAB, Romaissaa; BENNEFISSA ,Nabila
This dissertation presents a comparative analysis of written and oral testimonial discourse during the French colonial period in Algeria. The study aims to identify the linguistic and discursive characteristics of each form of testimony in order to understand how witnesses construct and transmit memory. Particular attention is given to the linguistic mechanisms used to highlight dominant ideas according to Dominique Maingueneau, as well as to dialogism as developed by Mikhail Bakhtin. The corpus consists of written and oral testimonies produced by Algerian freedom fighters and victims of colonialism. The analysis reveals that oral discourse is marked by strong emotional and interactive dimensions, whereas written discourse tends to be more reflective and structurally organized. The research also highlights the role of testimonial discourse in preserving collective memory and denouncing colonial violence.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) BEREZOUG ,Rabha; soussi ikhlef ,nadia
This research examines the influence of assessment on vocabulary expansion and the strengthening of autonomy in fifth-grade primary school students learning French as a foreign language (FLE). The aim of this study is to illustrate the impact of assessment methods on vocabulary acquisition and student engagement in their own learning process. A comparative analysis was conducted in two fifth-grade primary school classes. The impact of assessment on student performance was determined using data obtained through observation of the sessions and review of the activities carried out. The conclusions drawn indicate that the inclusion of assessment, particularly formative and self-assessment assessment, increases vocabulary assimilation, boosts student engagement, and strengthens their independence. This research therefore highlights that assessment is an essential teaching tool for promoting vocabulary learning in the FLE classroom.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) DRIF ,Amina Nesrine; Djilali BENEKROUF, Blaha
This dissertation examines Rachid Benzine’s novel L’Homme qui lisait des livres and explores how the writer combines fiction and testimony in order to offer a literary rewriting of Palestinian history. The study relies on a narratological and intertextual approach to analyze the construction of the narrative, the representation of memory, and the symbolic value of literary references. The findings reveal that the fragmented narrative reflects the pain of exile, war, and loss, while intertextuality helps express the unspeakable, resist oblivion, and universalize Palestinian suffering. Therefore, literature emerges as a space of memory, transmission, and resistance.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) Attab ,Sidi Mohammed; BENEKROUF ,Blaha Djilali
This thesis analyzes the representations of marginality in the novel by Mimoun Ayer, “The Boy Who Lived in the Wall”, exploring how the protagonist Hassan embodies the fractures of contemporary Algeria. Through an approach combining poetic of the narrative and sociocritique, the study demonstrates that narrative strategies such as free indirect speech break the invisibility of the marginal to give him a human thickness. The analysis of spatial symbolism shows that the wall is used as metaphor of an identity suspended between the failure of urban integration and an inner exile. By understanding this drama in the tradition of French-speaking Algerian literature, this work highlights a radical critique of institutional violence and social contempt.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) Achour, amina; Abourejal ,amira; Merbouh, hadjer
In this research, we explore the construction of meaning in health messages through a semiolinguistique study of awareness posters. We analyze how linguistic signs (slogans, imperatives) and iconic signs (images, colors) collaborate to transform complex medical data into simple messages accessible to the general public. Drawing on the theories of Roland Barthes, we examine a corpus of 15 posters from international organizations such as the WHO and UNICEF. Our findings confirm that images and text work together to anchor meaning and optimize the preventive impact of the message

The findings show that the monolingual dictionary contributes more effectively to vocabulary enrichment and the improvement of written expression. This research therefore emphasizes the importance of dictionaries as pedagogical tools in learning French as a foreign language.

(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2026) BELHADJ ,Nour El Houda; BENNEFISSA ,Nabila
This following thesis focuses on the semiopragmatic analysis of ten Algerian advertisements broadcast during the month of Ramadan 2026. The aim of this study is to analyse the discursive, cultural, and symbolic strategies used to influence the public. This thesis is based on two complementary approaches: the Peircean semiotic approach to analyse the signs and symbols present in advertising posters, and J. L. Austin's theory of speech acts with the intention of examining the pragmatic mechanisms of influence exerted on the public. This is achieved through the creation of a questionnaire based on Austin's principles. The results obtained aim to determine to what extent Ramadan advertisements influence cultural and social values, creating an emotional and behavioural impact on the public.
