Le traitement de l'espace dans le roman Onitsha de J.M.G Le Clézio
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025) SLAIMI, Nor El Houda Feriel Kheira; Sidi Yakoub, Aïcha
Resume ~ 63 ~ Abstract: This research, entitled “The Treatment of Space in the Novel Onitsha by J. M. G. Le Clézio”, has revealed that the author draws primarily on the African city of Onitsha, which serves as the main setting of the narrative. In comparison with other spaces mentioned — those of memory, nostalgia, violence, or feminine intimacy — Onitsha emerges as the central space, both real and symbolic, and deeply charged with emotions. On the one hand, we conducted both paratextual and textual analyses of the novel in order to highlight the author’s choices, his structuring of the narrative, and the ways in which he guides the reader to better understand the deeper intentions of the work. On the other hand, this study adopts a dual approach — geocritical and mythocritical — to examine the spaces that carry meaning and symbolism within the novel

Le discours humoristique et l’improvisation dans le stand up ; analyse thématique, sociolinguistique et pragmatique du spectacle « on m’appelle Marseille » de Redouane Bougheraba
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025) Ould Amer, Yasser; Amouri, Nour El Houda
This dissertation analyzes the humorous discourse of the Franco-Algerian comedian Redouane Bougheraba from a sociolinguistic perspective, focusing on his show On m’appelle Marseille and his improvisations. Bougheraba’s humor is examined as a complex discursive practice, blending code-switching (French, dialectal Arabic, English), self-deprecation, and audience interaction to negotiate cultural identities in a multicultural society. The first chapter explores linguistic techniques such as code-switching, wordplay, and irony, which reflect his bicultural identity and subvert social norms to create universal humor. The second chapter analyzes improvisation and crowd work, where Bougheraba transforms audience reactions into comedic material through pragmatic management of speech acts and violations of Grice’s maxims. By leveraging shared cultural references and ritualized stereotypes, his humor serves as a tool for cultural mediation, fostering dialogue and social cohesion. The study concludes that Bougheraba’s humor, rooted in comedic modernity, mirrors social dynamics and acts as a catalyst for unity in a pluralistic France.

Métissage des langue chez les joueurs de l’équipe national Algérienne
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025) Boucif, Yacine; Kebaha, Sid Ahmed Ouassini
“Sports Discourse: A Socio-Discursive Analysis of Dual-National Players in the Algerian National Team”** This thesis examines the linguistic practices in Algerian football discourse, focusing on dual-national players in the national team. The study analyzes the linguistic hybridity observed in their interviews and press conferences, where Algerian Arabic (Darija), French, and occasionally English or German are interwoven. This code-switching reflects Algeria’s multilingual landscape, shaped by the coexistence of Arabic, Berber (Tamazight), French, and other languages. ### **Research Questions & Hypotheses** The study investigates the unique characteristics of Algerian footballers’ speech and the motivations behind their linguistic mixing. Key hypotheses suggest that: 1. **Communicative Strategy**: Code-switching fosters closeness with audiences. 2. **Linguistic Proficiency**: It reflects players’ multilingual skills. 3. **International Exposure**: Playing abroad influences language use. 4. **Media Influence**: Press interactions encourage language alternation. ### **Methodology** A mixed-methods approach was used: - **Qualitative analysis**: Video excerpts of players like Saïd Benrahma and Houssem Aouar. - **Quantitative survey**: 30 Algerian fans were polled. **Key Findings**: - **50% of fans** prefer a French-Arabic hybrid discourse. - **86.7%** easily understand this mixed speech. - Players with international experience (e.g., in European leagues) naturally incorporate foreign terms (e.g., “Dankeschön,” “very nice”). ### **Linguistic Phenomena Observed** 1. **Bilingualism/Plurilingualism**: Players switch effortlessly between languages. 2. **Code-Switching**: Blending languages mid-sentence (e.g., *”rani ferhan, inch’allah nleb7o bezef les matches”*). 3. **Loanwords & Interference**: French terms like *”tranquille”* or English phrases (*”good music”*) appear in Arabic contexts.4. **Diglossia**: Contrast between formal Arabic (media/official use) and informal Darija (daily speech). ### **Conclusion** Algerian football discourse embodies a **multilingual identity**, balancing local roots and global influences. Fans perceive this hybridity as natural and engaging, reinforcing cultural and social bonds. The study highlights football as a microcosm of Algeria’s sociolinguistic diversity, where language serves as both a communicative tool and a marker of identity.

La manifestation des émotions dans le texte maghrébin L`histoire comme pivot romanesque
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-18) Bessayah, Mohamed Assim; Benekrouf Blaha, Djilali
This thesis analyzes how Ryad Girod's The Eyes of Mansour shapes Algerian collective memory, particularly that marked by the trauma of the civil war of the 1990s and the Black Decade of 1992. Through a thematic and narrative approach, it highlights the literary devices that allow the author to depict national history as a space of pain, silence, and fragmentation. Structured in three parts, the work first explores the representation of historical and political memory, then collective emotions such as grief, guilt, and nostalgia. Finally, it focuses on the novel's narrative choices (fragmented narration, multiple voices, non-linear temporality) which reflect the difficulty of recounting a past that is still vivid and conflicting.

Entre solitude et fraternité : les enjeux existentiels dans Nos frères inattendus de Amin Maalouf
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-18) Djelloul, Camélia; Chaouib, Fatiha
In this dissertation, we aim to examine Amin Maalouf‟s reflection on humanity and the future of civilizations through Nos frères inattendus. Indeed, this novel combines a dystopian fable with philosophical meditation, while addressing universal questions such as the end of utopia, isolation, the disruption of the world, and the loss of bearings in an uncertain era. Through symbolic writing, rich paratextual elements, and multiple intertextual references, Maalouf offers a lucid and critical narrative that invites us to question our relationship with progress, solitude, and our collective destiny.

The Writing of Nostalgia in the Novel The Song of Melancholy Written by the Writer Mahmud Nasimi As part of in-depth literary and scientific research, this study deals with the theme ""Nostalgic Writing in the Novel The Song of Melancholy"", which falls within the field of French literature and civilization. This research aims to study the concept of nostalgic writing in the novel The Song of Melancholy, written by the writer Mahmud Nasimi in 2022, through an analysis based on two main approaches: narratology and stylistics. In the first chapter, the research focuses on the study of the narratological approach, which makes it possible to understand the narrative structure of the novel and how the writer uses narrative elements to highlight the feeling of nostalgia and melancholy. In the second chapter, a precise stylistic perspective is analyzed, as the linguistic and rhetorical methods that contributed to the construction of the nostalgic narrative are highlighted. This research presents an in-depth reading that reflects the relationship between narrative and stylistic processes, through which the writer takes the reader into a space filled with nostalgia and memories, and also contributes to enriching critical literary studies related to the contemporary novel.

L’écriture de l’identité dans L’effacement de Samir Toumi
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-18) BENSAFI, Amani Anissa; SIDI YACOUB, Aicha
This thesis focuses on the novel *L’Effacement* by Samir Toumi, a work that deeply explores the theme of identity crisis in contemporary Algerian society. Through the story of a narrator-character who gradually loses his reflection in the mirror, the novel portrays an existential malaise tied to the weight of the past, paternal authority, and the postcolonial context. The study is structured around two main axes: the representation of a fragmented identity through first-person narration, and the analysis of narrative and stylistic techniques (such as interior monologue, disrupted temporality, narrative fragmentation, typography...) that reflect the character’s gradual erasure. The results of the analysis confirm that the novel illustrates a psychological and social disintegration of identity. *L’Effacement* is not only the account of a personal disappearance, but also a mirror reflecting a generation that has lost its bearings.

Technolecte ordinaire des courtiers immobiliers de la ville d’Ain Temouchent en contexte informel : analyse sociolinguistique et discursive
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-16) Mesli, Nabil; Bahri, Souad
This study analyzes the linguistic practices of informal real estate brokers in the wilaya of Aïn Témouchent, located in western Algeria. The analysis reveals a trilingual stratification of real estate lexicon: French borrowings for technical domains, Algerian Arabic(darja) and Témouchent dialectal for social interactions. This linguistic hybridization produces remarkable lexical creativity with neologisms, hybrid compositions and euphemistic metaphorizations. - The observed technolect mobilizes specific discursive strategies (urgency argumentation, euphemization) that compensate for the absence of formal legal framework. The sociolect functions as a marker of professional belonging and instrument of social distinction, revealing identity negotiation between tradition and modernity.

L’évaluation de l’écrit en classe de FLE chez les apprenants de 3éme année primaire : le cas de l’école BOUCHIKHI Kouider à Ain Témouchent
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-17) BOUATOUCHE, Larbi; MEKERNEF, Larbi; BELKADI, Mokhtar
The evaluation of writing skills in the French as a Foreign Language (FLE) classroom is a fundamental part of the learning process, as it allows teachers to assess learners’ levels in written production. It plays an important role in tracking their progress and adapting teaching practices to their needs. The purpose of this evaluation is to check the students' ability to express themselves in writing in a clear, structured, and accurate manner in French, according to their proficiency level. It is integrated at different stages of teaching: at the beginning to diagnose needs, during the learning process to monitor progress, and at the end to validate acquired skills. In FLE classes, writing evaluation is not limited to correcting mistakes—it also considers text organization, adherence to instructions, and the effectiveness of communication. Through this type of evaluation, learners can improve their written language skills and strengthen their autonomy in learning.

nalyse sémiolinguistique des affiches publicitaires de marques algériennes pendant le mois de Ramadan (2023 à 2025)
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-14) SI BOUAZZA, KAWTHER; LAHCENE, MANEL; MERBOUH, HADJER
In this research, we focus on advertising posters broadcast during the month of Ramadan in Algeria (from 2023 to 2025), which address various dimensions—social, cultural, and religious. To guide our analysis, we have adopted a semiological approach, specifically drawing on Roland Barthes' methodology. This framework allows us to examine Algerian advertising posters that promote local products during Ramadan, aiming to highlight both linguistic and visual components. These elements work together to enhance the advertising message as a form of communication. The analysis also reveals the complementarity between linguistic signs (text) and iconic signs (images), which together generate multiple layers of meaning and contribute to increasing the perceived value of the advertised product.

Contact des langues et créativité lexicale dans la chanson raï : approche thématique et sociolinguistique
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-19) Benkhadouma, Fatima Zohra; Amouri, Nour El Houda
This dissertation examines the raï song as a multilingual discursive space reflecting the sociolinguistic and identity dynamics of contemporary Algeria. Through a thematic and sociolinguistic analysis of a corpus featuring artists such as Cheb Khaled, Cheb Mami, Cheb Houssem, Cheb Reda, Cheb Mehdi, and Cheba Dalila, the study explores how raï captures tensions between tradition and modernity. Key themes—love, heartbreak, exile, jealousy, rebellion, and resilience—mirror the concerns of Algerian youth. Linguistically, code-switching between Algerian Arabic (darija) and French, lexical borrowings, and neology highlight everyday bilingualism and cultural hybridity. Recognized as UNESCO intangible heritage in 2022, raï serves as a space for creativity and resistance, negotiating a plural Algerian identity in a globalized context. The study suggests avenues for future research, including the impact of social media and comparisons with other musical genres.

Our study seeks to prove the effectiveness of cooperative pedagogy in strengthening lexical competence among fourth-year middle school students. Thus, we have compared the results of individual learning with those of cooperative team training. The study of the collected information indicates that students participating in cooperative activities significantly enrich their vocabulary compared to those who work individually. Therefore, cooperative pedagogy presents itself as an appropriate didactic resource to improve the lexical skills of students, which is difficult to achieve through strictly individual work.

Analyse du monologue d’Amine Radi sur la boxeuse algérienne Imane Khelif
(UNIVERSITY OF AIN TEMOUCHENT, 2025-06-10) Boukhili, Hayet; Soussi-Ikhlef, Nadia
our research highlights a discursive analysis of the humorous strategies used in comedic monologues, through the study of a sketch by Amine Radi about the Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. By combining tools from discourse analysis (DA) and humor theories, we examine how comedic discourse constructs a representation that is both satirical and socially engaged with regard to women’s sports in Algeria. This approach allowed us to show how Amine Radi’s humor becomes a critical tool to question gender stereotypes, media representations, and identity tensions, while subtly yet effectively influencing public perception.
