Abstract
In this dissertation, we aim to examine Amin Maalouf‟s reflection on humanity
and the future of civilizations through Nos frères inattendus. Indeed, this novel
combines a dystopian fable with philosophical meditation, while addressing universal
questions such as the end of utopia, isolation, the disruption of the world, and the loss
of bearings in an uncertain era. Through symbolic writing, rich paratextual elements,
and multiple intertextual references, Maalouf offers a lucid and critical narrative that
invites us to question our relationship with progress, solitude, and our collective
destiny.
