With increasing urbanization and population density, the volume of wastewater continues to grow, leading to serious environmental and health challenges. Therefore, the implementation of effective treatment systems has become an urgent necessity to protect public health and preserve ecosystem balance. This study focuses on evaluating the performance of the Aïn El Kihal wastewater treatment plant, which uses the activated sludge process for treating domestic wastewater. Two main approaches were adopted in this work : A physico-chemical analysis of the influent and effluent, aimed at assessing the plant’s effectiveness in pollutant removal. A numerical simulation using the GPS-X software, an advanced tool used to model treatment processes and identify performance improvement strategies. As part of the plant’s performance monitoring, a comparison was carried out between the experimental results obtained from laboratory analyses and those generated by the simulation software. This comparison revealed a good correlation between the data, demonstrating both the reliability of the plant's performance and the accuracy of the digital modeling. High removal efficiencies were recorded for key biological and physical parameters such as BOD5,COD, NH4+, and TSS.Item Dimensionnement d'une station d'épuration a bio disque à AIN BEIDA commune de HAMMAM BOUHDJER(2025) Elgharbi, hanaa; Benteguig, kawtar; benchekor, hassibaThis study aims to determine the sizing of the various structures that make up the Ain Beida wastewater treatment plant. Like dams, it acts as a natural reservoir for rainwater and is typically exploited through well drilling. However, this process requires not only accurate knowledge of the location of groundwater beneath the surface, but also its depth, quality, and storage capacity—posing significant technical and scientific challenges. This thesis serves as an introduction and general overview of this important field, aiming to establish an effective methodology for three-dimensional modeling of aquifer systems. This modern tool provides deeper insight into groundwater behavior and supports its sustainable management. The study begins by presenting the fundamental concepts related to aquifers, including their types and hydrodynamic properties. It then explores techniques for collecting topographic, geological, climatic, and hydrological data, with a focus on the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Furthermore, the research investigates digital modeling tools such as MODFLOW and GMS, as well as 3D visualization techniques, through the analysis of interpolation methods, layer representation, and interactive modeling. Ultimately, the work proposes a comprehensive scientific methodology for accurately representing aquifer layers, with the objective of supporting decision- making in the management of groundwater resources.Item Investigation of Factors Influencing NOx Emissions in Gas Turbine Generators of a Natural Gas Liquefaction Facility(2025) ELMEZOUAR, Abdel Rafik; ABDALLAH BERRABEH, Ben ali; DR.CHOUAT NadjatThis thesis presents an experimental investigation into the factors influencing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from Frame 6 gas turbines equipped with Dry Low NOx (DLN) systems within a natural gas liquefaction complex. These pollutants represent a major challenge for the energy industry, as their emissions can exceed regulatory limits even with advanced control technologies in place. The study combines a theoretical review of NOx formation mechanisms with a rigorous experimental campaign, utilizing in-situ gas analysis, fuel gas chromatography, and real-time operational data collection. The results demonstrate that fuel gas density and composition, particularly the levels of nitrogen and ethane, have a more decisive influence on NOx production than the fuel's overall calorific value. These findings underscore the need for a systemic, multi-parameter approach to emissions control and open pathways for developing advanced predictive models to optimize the environmental performance of industrial gas turbines.Item Analyse expérimentale et optimisation des systèmes de dessalement solaire pour une production durable d’eau(2025) GHORZI, Redouane; Dr. MILOUD ABID OussamaWater has become a critical global challenge, closely tied to human development, while the search for sustainable sources grows increasingly urgent. Algeria faces severe water scarcity and relies on seawater desalination. However, conventional methods remain costly and energy-intensive. This study presents an experimental approach using a parabolic solar concentrator for saltwater distillation, providing an economical and eco-friendly alternative. The system operates solely on solar energy and was optimized for maximum efficiency. Our findings demonstrate that a 3-meter-diameter parabolic reflector paired with a copper absorption chamber delivers optimal performance.Item Gestion du réseau d’alimentation en eau potable du pôle urbain -Ahmed ZABANA- (Wilaya d’Oran)(2025) Lahcene, Ghania; Amar Belarbi, Feryel; Mr Benaicha.MThe work carried out as part of this final dissertation, entitled "Management of a drinking water supply network in the AHMED ZABANA urban center in the wilaya of ORAN," focuses on the study of the hydraulic behavior of the locality's water supply network. This thesis explores various strategies and techniques for protecting hydraulic structures against water-induced erosion. The main objective is to analyze the mechanisms of erosion, identify the factors contributing to the wear of hydraulic structures, and propose effective solutions to minimize these impacts. The methodology adopted combines a review of existing literature on different types of erosion (fluvial, hydraulic, etc.), the use of numerical models to simulate the impact of various environmental factors on structures, as well as case studies on hydraulic structures in Algeria and elsewhere. These studies help to understand how geological and hydrological characteristics influence erosion. The results show that the use of techniques such as riprap, geotextiles, and concrete linings is effective in reducing erosion. Additionally, regular maintenance and monitoring of structures play a crucial role in preventing damage. This thesis also highlights the importance of adapting protective solutions to local specificities, taking into account geological and climatic conditions. In conclusion, this work contributes to a better understanding of the challenges posed by erosion of hydraulic structures and proposes an integrated approach to enhance their protection, ensuring their longevity and efficiency.
