Résumé
Gestational diabetes mellitus represents a major public health concern due to its consequences
on maternal and fetal health. This condition is associated with various metabolic and
hematological disturbances that may influence the course of pregnancy and promote the
occurrence of maternal and fetal complications.
The objective of this work is to evaluate certain biochemical and hematological parameters in
pregnant women affected by gestational diabetes mellitus. The studied parameters notably
include blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), lipid profile, as well as several
hematological parameters.
This study was carried out on 60 pregnant women divided into two groups: a group of 30
women with gestational diabetes mellitus and a control group composed of 30 healthy
pregnant women. The analysis of the results revealed differences between the two groups
regarding several of the biological parameters studied.
The obtained results show that diabetic pregnant women present higher mean values of blood
glucose and HbA1c than those observed in healthy pregnant women. Variations in certain
hematological parameters were also observed, whereas several biochemical parameters
remained within the reference values.
These findings highlight the importance of regular biochemical and hematological monitoring
in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus in order to ensure better pregnancy
surveillance and contribute to the prevention of maternal and fetal complications.
