Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy (ACT)-based intervention program in reducing future anxiety levels among
adolescents of unknown parentage. The clinical method was adopted as the most suitable
approach for analyzing complex psychological cases in depth. The study tools included clinical
interviews of various types (structured, unstructured, and semi-structured), clinical observation,
the Future Anxiety Scale (Zineb Chaker, 2005), as well as case study analysis.
The study sample consisted of three adolescents of unknown parentage, who were purposefully
selected from the Multi-Service Center for Youth Protection in Ain Talout. A pre-intervention
assessment of future anxiety was conducted, revealing high levels of anxiety among the cases.
The ACT-based therapeutic program was then implemented, aiming to teach mindfulness skills,
acceptance, personal value clarification, and commitment.
Following the completion of therapy sessions, the same scale was re-administered. The results
showed a significant decrease in future anxiety levels in two out of the three cases, indicating
the effectiveness of the therapeutic program. However, variations in response were observed,
which could be attributed to the individual psychological and social differences among the
cases.
