Abstract
In this research, we have tried to analyze the didactic-cultural discourse of the FLE
textbook of the second year of secondary school, all sectors combined. The objective was
to discover the culture that this manual really reflects in the eyes of Algerian learners in the
secondary cycle. In this perspective we have opted for a detailed description of the manual
by giving its place in the teaching / learning of French as a foreign language. We have
highlighted the culture of the other in relation to that of the learners – samples, through
texts and iconic media; essential elements for the explanation and justification of the
presence or absence of French, national or other socio-cultural indices.
