Abstract

This study seeks to analyze the epic novel by Abdelmalek Mortad from the perspective of reception aesthetics. The study is concerned with how the reader interacts with the narrative text and the possibilities it offers for interpretation and aesthetic emotion. It also sheds light on the narrative and linguistic structures that Mortad employed to attract the recipient and involve him in the production of meaning, The novel's exposure to rich cultural, historical, and intellectual backgrounds makes the reader an active element in completing its aesthetic structure.
