The production of biodiesel from waste cooking oils is fully consistent with the principles of sustainable development. This study has demonstrated the feasibility of valorizing a common waste stream, frequently mismanaged, into an environmentally benign alternative fuel. Using the transesterification process, these oils were effectively converted into biodiesel meeting established quality standards based on critical parameters such as density, kinematic viscosity, pH, and chemical composition. The experimental results indicate that the resulting biodiesel exhibits adequate physicochemical properties comparable to those of conventional petroleum-based diesel fuels, while contributing to a significant reduction in pollutant emissions. Additionally, the recovery of glycerol as a secondary by-product offers potential for value-added applications, notably in the manufacture of soaps, thereby enhancing the economic and environmental sustainabilityof the production pathway. In summary, this project underscores the technical viability, economic profitability, and ecological benefits of converting waste frying oils into biodiesel. It represents a viable, localized, and sustainable solution to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and constitutes a genuine opportunity for communities and industries committed to minimizing their environmental footprint.en_US
