Abstract

This study explores the presence of the historical hero figure in the Algerian short story, focusing on the collection ""Rebellious Souls"" by Abdallah Rekkibi. It aims to highlight the artistic and symbolic dimensions of this presence and its role in reinforcing national awareness and invoking collective memory. The research also analyzes the ways in which this character is integrated into the narrative structure, within a specific social and historical context. This study seeks to fill an academic gap concerning the treatment of the historical hero in Algerian short fiction.
