Résumé
This study aimed to identify the relationship between smartphone addiction,
psychological and behavioral problems, and their impact on academic achievement
among primary school pupils with low academic performance. The exploratory
study adopted the descriptive method, while the main study relied on the clinical
method (case study). The research used the Smartphone Addiction Scale developed
by Kwon et al. (2013), the Diagnostic Interview Tool for Children's Problems by
Sayed Abdelrahman Mohamed, and an analysis of academic results.
The findings revealed that excessive smartphone use is associated with the
emergence of several psychological and behavioral problems, such as anxiety,
stress, poor attention, and emotional instability, which negatively affect academic
achievement. The results also showed that reducing smartphone use contributes to
improvements in certain psychological and academic aspects. The study concluded
that there is a relationship between smartphone addiction, the emergence of
psychological and behavioral problems, and a decline in academic achievement
among the cases studied.
