Résumé
This study aims to uncover the representations of the social and political dimensions in the short story collection "For Whom
Do the Throats Cry Out?" by Ezz El-Din Jalawji. This collection is considered one of the short stories that embodies both
social and political realities through evocative and concise artistic language, blending symbolism with suggestion and ironic
paradox. Various social issues such as poverty, marginalization, unemployment, and alienation are prominent in this
collection, alongside its portrayal of a political reality based on all forms of oppression and tyranny. Furthermore, the
collection depicts the psychological and physical suffering of the characters as a result of this crisis. Through his characters,
the author seeks to interrogate reality in order to expose and lay bare its flaws.
