This study aims to highlight the role of digital transformation in the development of the agricultural sector in Algeria, as one of the strategic sectors contributing to food security and economic development. It examines the fundamental concepts, dimensions, and requirements of digital transformation, as well as its impact on economic growth. The study also analyzes the reality of the Algerian agricultural sector, its main resources, and the challenges it faces, particularly in marketing and the limited use of modern technologies. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of digitalization in improving agricultural performance through facilitating access to information, enhancing marketing processes, reducing intermediaries, and strengthening communication among stakeholders. In addition, a digital business model, “DZ AgriMarket, ” is proposed to connect farmers with agricultural input suppliers and equipment owners through a specialized electronic platform. The study concludes that digital transformation represents a strategic option for improving the efficiency of the agricultural sector and achieving sustainable development in Algeria.
