Résumé

This study seeks to provide a comprehensive analytical and descriptive reading of the book "Orthophonie: The Science of Language, Speech, and Voice Disorders" by its author, Professor Mohamed Houla. The importance of this research stems from shedding light on this modern interdisciplinary science that links medical, linguistic, psychological, and educational dimensions, moving the specialization out of the narrow traditional concept of "speech correction" into a broader space concerned with human communication disorders at various levels. The study relied on deconstructing the book's textual thresholds and its internal and external structure, in addition to presenting a rigorous methodological analysis of the prominent disorders addressed by the author, such as aphasia, speech delay, language delay, and stuttering. The study also discussed the integrative methodology and the academic language adopted by the researcher in Arabizing terminology and bringing theoretical, practical, and clinical aspects closer to practitioners and students. The thesis concluded by highlighting the profound cognitive and human value of the book as a reference guide that enriches the Arabic library.
