Abstract
This research is conducted to explore the learning and teaching styles and to examine
the use of memorization and the role of the teacher to enhance the student’s
vocabulary in Belhadj Bouchaib University of Ain Temouchent in Algeria. The
structure of this study includes the definition of learning and teaching styles, the types
of learning styles, and types of teaching styles , and definition of memorization , types
of memorization , and language learning strategies and memorization as a language
learning strategy .This is a mixed method research, where we selected a sample of first
year English students and their teachers in Belhadj Bouchaib university, in order to
determine their learning and teaching styles and the role of teachers in improving
memory skills, and enhancing students’ vocabulary
