Résumé
This study examines the reality of women’s entrepreneurial activity among
university graduates, as entrepreneurship has become an important option for
achieving independence and self-realization. It aims to understand the extent to
which female graduates engage in entrepreneurial activities, as well as the factors
influencing their orientation toward creating their own projects, with a focus on
gender roles, social status, and family and university support.
The study adopts a qualitative approach, which allows for an in-depth
understanding of the participants’ experiences and perceptions. A snowball
sampling method was used, including 13 female entrepreneurs who are university
graduates. The interview technique was employed as the main data collection
tool, as it provides rich insights into personal experiences and lived realities.
The findings reveal that traditional gender roles still influence the choices of female
graduates and limit the diversity of their projects. At the same time, entrepreneurial
activity has contributed to improving women’s social status. The results also show
that family and university support plays an important role, although it varies in
degree, which affects women’s ability to balance their private lives with business
demands.
The study concludes that entrepreneurship is an important means of empowering
female graduates; however, it remains influenced by gender roles and insufficient
support, highlighting the need to create a more supportive environment that
encourages women’s entrepreneurial initiatives.
