Résumé

The novel Butterflies by واسيني الأعرج represents a remarkable example of the interaction between the novel and theater. The writer successfully combines narrative storytelling with dramatic theatrical techniques in a modern artistic form. Through intense dialogue, successive scenes, and theatrical presentation methods, the reader feels as if the events are unfolding on a stage rather than simply being read in a novel. The author also presents the characters in a dramatic way, making them appear like theatrical performers carrying deep psychological and intellectual dimensions. In addition, the novel relies heavily on conflict, movement, and dramatic tension, which are key characteristics of theater more than traditional narrative writing. At the same time, the work preserves the essential features of the novel through inner description, flashbacks, and exploration of the characters’ inner worlds. This creates a balance between the narrative and theatrical dimensions. Such artistic blending gives the text vitality and aesthetic richness, transforming narration into a visual and dynamic space that reflects human and social issues in a contemporary style.
