Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in Algeria by relying on a time series that includes the period (1970-2020). The results of the study revealed the contribution of foreign direct investment in increasing the growth rate, which is confirmed by the theoretical relationship between them, with a positive and weak moral effect in the short and long terms. The study also drew attention to the need to implement clear development policies and an ambitious sectoral strategy, and to provide a more attractive environment for export-oriented foreign investments towards sectors that enjoy a competitive advantage in the Algerian economy.
