Abstract

This research, entitled Introduction to Orthophony by Samira Rakza and Amine Jnane, aims to understand the nature of this specialization, its fields, and its theoretical and scientific foundations, as well as to extract the basic concepts that constitute the cognitive basis of the discipline. The objectives of this study revolve around defining the scientific concept of orthophony and its historical development, clarifying the complementary relationship between it and its supporting sciences, as well as explaining the mechanisms of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of language and speech disorders. The book Introduction to Orthophony represents a foundational reference for understanding this specialization and emphasizes that the orthophonist’s training should be both theoretical and practical in order to ensure effective management of communication disorders
