Abstract

This research examines experimentation in hypertext digital stories through the study of the novel Chat Dot Com as a model. It aims to reveal the manifestations and mechanisms of experimentation in this modern narrative form in light of the transformations imposed by the digital revolution on literature. The research relied on several concepts in the first chapter related to experimentation and digital literature, including its characteristics, components, and types, in addition to a practical study. The second chapter was devoted to analyzing the stories in terms of their narrative structure, multiplicity of paths, and interactive techniques, alongside the study of language and style. The study concluded that hypertext digital stories represent a new form of literary writing based on interaction, branching, and the breaking of linearity, which gives the reader a fundamental role in producing meaning.
