Abstract
The construction industry is one of the largest consumers of natural resources and CO2 emitters, threatening the global ecological balance. Traditional concrete, a cornerstone of the sector, heavily relies on non-renewable materials, exacerbating environmental degradation. In the face of this urgent challenge, it is imperative to integrate bio-based materials that reduce environmental impact while ensuring optimal mechanical and thermal performance. The incorporation of natural fibers such as flax offers a promising solution, enhancing compressive and flexural strength as well as thermal insulation without compromising cost or material durability.
