Résumé
The Algerian novel has embodied the reality of Algerian society and its
historical, social, and cultural issues through its close relationship with popular
heritage, which is considered a rich source from which the Algerian novelist has
drawn various aspects of daily life. This relationship is clearly manifested in the
novel “The Flowers of Wild Times” by the novelist Djilali Khalas, where
various forms of popular heritage are evoked, such as proverbs, customs and
traditions, and arts. This use has contributed to highlighting the cultural identity
of Algerian society, reinforcing the values of belonging and authenticity, and
reflecting the specificity of the Algerian popular environment in its various
social and cultural dimensions.
