Abstract
Zabor ou Les psaumes (2017) is the second novel by its creator, Kamel Daoud, who also
wrote Meursault contre-enquête, released in 2013. In this novel, there is an intertextuality
crossover with one of the holy books. The book is associated with the name of the prophet
who received this revelation and with the author's homonym, perhaps indicating that
Kamel Daoud has positioned himself as a "prophet".
Kamel Daoud, the author who went from being a columnist for the newspaper Le
Quotidien d'Oran to the writer who won the 2014 Goncourt prize for first novels with
Meursault contre-enquête, also wrote a collection of his columns entitled Mes
indépendances, and then moved on to essays with the publication of a story about his
impressions of Picasso's works entitled Le peintre dévorant la femme.
