Abstract

The endowment is considered one of the tributaries of charitable work and societal contribution in all fields. It has several images throughout the Islamic and Western eras, a nd one of the clear methods for benefiting from the endowment in order to support science and its people. This study aims to show the role of the endowment in financing univers ity institutions and that of Through the presentation of various successful experiences, and this through the presentation of some data of various prestigious universities across the world in which the endowment experience was a successful experience and H arvard University was the model on which the study was conducted. The study used both a descriptive and experimental approach, and data was collected for some of the prestigious universities that classify the endowment as an element of its financing. The study concluded that the endow mentis among the most important sources of funding for university institutions, given Western experiences, as it contributes to covering the expenses of the higher education sector without resorting to government funding , which maybe a reduction in public spending for the government, and may also be one of the advantages that raise the level of education in the countries It is observed in the Harvard University exper ienc
