Abstract
The reuse of treated wastewater is a voluntary and planned action that aims to produce
additional quantities of water for different uses.
Today the national strategy for sustainable development in Algeria is particularly
materialized through a strategic plan that brings together three dimensions namely:
Social, Economic and Environmental.
Faced with the challenge of ensuring the coverage of water needs for agriculture in
Algeria, the reuse of treated wastewater appears as the most suitable solution for
irrigation.
The main objective of this work is to know the framework the regulatory framework
governing the use of unconventional waters, know the origins, nature, quality and
measurement parameters of polluted water.
This work will therefore have the intention of describing the characteristics of the Ain
Témouchent wastewater treatment plant, its production capacity, the quality of the
purified water at the outlet and the possibilities of the reuse of these waters in the field
of irrigation. .
The results of the analyzes obtained show that these waters can be exploited in localized
irrigation for a specific crop group (Citrus, Arboriculture ... etc.), according to the studied
methods that have yielded successful results (Sizing).
