Abstract

The journey witnessed major transformations, starting from the function of paths and kingdoms, all the way to great explorations. The journey kept pace with the stages of human development and knew how to emerge from each era with a coat that suits its nature. Since the development of civilization and technology has imposed rituals through which many of the results of the stages and functions of travel have been eliminated. While the journey was being looked at in terms of the report written by the traveller, in terms of knowledge and news, the travel text was a container for the details of the journey, while the journey demonstrated, with the rise of the sun of civilization, with the amazing technological development it produced, a new literary discourse, which is the discourse of the narrator. What was implicit, was destroyed by the knowledge stuffed into the text. Hence, the travel text of our time remains based on the narrative aspect of evaluating the self, criticizing it and comparing it to others, and a standard for detailing pure humanity, with all the details that human experiences carry.
