Abstract

"The knowledge-based economy of today poses a set of challenges related to the developments witnessed by the business environment in the face of global competition, especially since the reliance of institutions on traditional methods in performing their activities is no longer able to withstand these challenges. Therefore, in this study, we tried to determine the role played by competence management in achieving a competitive advantage, by identifying the trends of the sample members in the medical and surgical gloves company STGLI towards the role of competence management in achieving a competitive advantage. To achieve the research objectives, we used a questionnaire to collect data related to the study for the purpose of analyzing it and extracting the results. We relied on the descriptive analytical approach to reach the study results. Our study included a sample of 45 employees in the STGLI medical gloves company. We relied on statistical analysis to test the study hypotheses using the statistical program SPSS V26. We reached a set of results, the most important of which is that the STGLI medical and surgical gloves company is well and continuously interested in managing its competencies, which has made it occupy an important position and gave it a competitive advantage over its competitors in the face of local and international competitive conditions."
