Résumé
This study examines Mohamed Abbas’s book entitled Al-
Bashir Al-Ibrahimi as a Literary Writer, focusing on the literary and
artistic aspects of Sheikh Mohamed Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi’s personality
and highlighting his position in modern Algerian literature. The research
is based on a central question concerning the extent to which Mohamed
Abbas succeeded in highlighting the literary dimension of Al-Ibrahimi’s
personality, identifying the main characteristics of his literary writings,

and examining the critical approach adopted by the author. The study
relies on the descriptive method and consists of three chapters. The first
chapter presents the theoretical and introductory framework by
discussing Al-Ibrahimi’s life, upbringing, reformist role, and literary
position, as well as introducing Mohamed Abbas and his book. The
second chapter examines the literary features of Al-Ibrahimi’s writings
through the study of political and social essays and several stylistic and
rhetorical characteristics, including the rhetorical tendency, rhyme,
irony, satire, and the use of Arab-Islamic heritage. The third chapter
focuses on the critical value of the book by highlighting its strengths,
particularly its attention to the literary dimension, documentation of Al-
Ibrahimi’s texts, and connection between literature, reform, and politics,
while also identifying some limitations, such as the dominance of
descriptive and traditional rhetorical analysis, the limited use of modern
critical approaches, and the lack of comparison with other writers. The
study concludes that Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi as a Literary Writer
represents an important foundational study that contributed to presenting
Al-Ibrahimi as a literary writer alongside his roles as a scholar and
reformer, revealing the interaction between literature, reform, and
politics in his writings and opening the way for further studies using
stylistic, pragmatic, argumentative, and comparative approaches.
