Résumé
In this dissertation entitled Prose Poetry in Monira Saâda Khalkhal’s Collection “The
Pseudonymous Names of Love”, we presented a study combining both theoretical and
practical approaches.
In the theoretical part, we discussed the concept of prose poetry, its origins, and the
stages of its development, especially in Algeria, as well as its relationship with women’s
writing, since it has become a means of expressing feminine identity, painful experiences, and
creative and literary concerns.
As for the practical part, we analyzed a selection of the poet’s poems in order to
highlight the aesthetic features she employed, such as symbolic poetic imagery, condensed
language, internal rhythm, and others.
In conclusion, we found that prose poetry represented an open space for expressing
women’s emotional experiences. Through this new literary genre, the poetess succeeded in
expressing her personal experience in a suggestive poetic language that harmonizes with the
specific characteristics of prose poetry.
