Econometric modeling of Algerian economic diversification resources outside the hydrocarbon during the period 1990-2020

Abstract

This study aims to measure the impact of some indicators of economic diversification on exports outside hydrocarbons as a measure of economic diversification in Algeria covering the period (1990-2020). By addressing three chapters: the first one is dedicated to the theoretical framework of economic diversification by focusing on its reality in Algeria, while the second one highlights previous studies related to the subject of our study, and the third one represents the empirical study by presenting an econometric model of the impact of some indicators of economic diversification on exports outside hydrocarbons in Algeria. The main findings show that there is a significant negative impact between non-hydrocarbon exports and foreign trade. In contrast, the relationship between gross fixed capital and the exchange rate of non-hydrocarbon exports is positive.
