Résumé
COVID-19 has had an impact on English as a Foreign Language for short EFL students and
teachers at the University of Ain Temouchent in Algeria. This research is devoted to shed
light on whether the pandemic has had a negative or positive effect on learning process in our
university. This study used an online questionnaire and a structured interview to gather
information. The findings have shown that EFL students had a negative learning experience
during the pandemic. It was not that easy to cope with the new e-learning experiences.
Despite the limitations of the newly adopted strategies, the global medical crisis has provided
an opportunity for EFL education to innovate through the adoption of new methods and
techniques that relate to educational technology.
