Abstract

Many researchers and specialists in sustainable development have emphasized the importance of human resources management in supporting environmental transitions within organizations. In this context, the concept of “green human resource management” has emerged as a strategic tool to promote environmental innovation and enhance sustainable organizational performance. Our study focused on analyzing the relationship between green HRM practices and green innovation in the workplace, by examining how these practices influence employees’ environmental awareness, ecological behavior, and the organization’s strategies toward green innovation. We analyzed the drivers that push institutions to adopt green practices, in addition to the challenges they face in this path, whether related to resources, organizational culture, or regulatory frameworks. This study aims to contribute to the scientific discussion on the topic and to propose practical mechanisms to support green innovation through environmentally aware human resources management.
