Abstract

The study aimed to highlight the importance of economic diversification for the oil-producing countries, by examining the development process in Malaysia,the United Arab Emirates and Algeria to diversify their economies during the period from 2005-2021. The study used the descriptive analytical approach to analyze and evaluate the contribution of economic sectors to the gross domestic product, This study concluded that although there is a similarity in terms of the economic diversification policies pursued in these countries, the results achieved were different and disparate ,Where Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates succeeded in diversifying their economies, while Algeria was unable to achieve this , and its economy is still linked to the hydrocarbon sector.and this is due to the penal government’s miscalculation and its inability to read the economic situation , which requires the government to review its strategies and work to find serious solution for the advancement of its economy
