Abstract
Due to the impact of globalisation, and the rapid growth of technology, new materials have
been introduced in Algerian education reforms such as video materials. Though numerous
technological devices have been implemented in teaching in order to facilitate teaching, make it
enjoyable and productive that serves the pupils’ needs. Yet in Algerian middle school still relies
on traditional methods. Accordingly the researcher tends to find out how the use of ICT’s can
help in improving pupils’ listening skill, and to know the pupils’ attitudes towards the use of that
technical devices. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of integrating technology in
English teaching and learning particularly teaching listening skill in EFL classes. A mixed
methodology based on questionnaire addressed to teachers and classroom observation is used in
this investigation. The main results obtained from the data collected showed that EFL teachers
were aware of the importance of ICT’s in EFL teaching and learning. The results also revealed
that teachers considered ICT’s integration in their teaching method as a source of motivation.
Accordingly, the researcher deduces that pupils of twenty first eras are affected by the use of
technology, and they prefer to learn listening skill via some modern methods such as the
implementation of videos, computers, and so on.
