| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to measure the impact of the development of the insurance industry on economic development in the short and long terms in the Algerian economy during the period 1992 - 2020, based on the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL Approach) model. In addition, the joint integration tests revealed the presence of a long - term. Equilibrium relationship between insurance activity and economic growth, as the study showed an insignificant negative impact of life insurance penetration rate on economic growth in the short and long term, and a positive and significant imp act of non - life insurance penetration rate on economic growth in the short and long term. The results of the study show that the development of the activity of insurance for damages somewhat enhances economic growth in Algeria, while life insurance has no t yet reached the required level of development to contribute to supporting economic developmen | en_US |
