Abstract
COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that spread first in China and then around the world,
leaving consequences that until now are poorly understood. Diabetes is a risk factor likely to
develop severe and critical forms of the infection. With this in mind, the objective of our study is
based on the evaluation of post-COVID-19 sequelae in diabetic patients. To carry out our study,
a questionnaire was developed and a population of 104 contaminated people participated. The
results show that the majority of people who participated in the study are between the ages of 50
and 64 and most of the participants are women. Also our results show that almost all the
participants were not hospitalized and were taken care of by their attending physician. The most
common symptoms were fatigue, fever, cough, chills, sore throat and headache, anosmia and
ageusia, pain and difficulty in breathing. We have also noticed that during this study most of the
participants have less stable glycemic control. Also, after a period of 3 to 6 months or more,
there are sequelae including asthenia, hair loss, memory, sleep and concentration disorders,
anxiety and headaches. Similarly, some participants have discovered a chronic disease after their
infection such as hyperthyroidism and hypertension. In conclusion, it is essential to optimize the
management of diabetic patients in order to improve the vital prognosis and limit the risk
hospitalization during the pandemic.
