Résumé
This study, entitled "The Legal Regulation of the Audiovisual Sector in Algeria," examines and analyzes the legislative and institutional framework governing the audiovisual media landscape. The research aims to trace the legislative development of this sector as it transitioned from state monopoly over broadcasting to a phase of liberalization and openness that encourages private initiatives. It highlights the prior licensing system and the obligations imposed on broadcasters under executive specifications. Furthermore, the study focuses on evaluating the legal nature of the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority as an independent administrative body, discussing the effectiveness and independence of its regulatory, monitoring, and dispute-resolution mechanisms. The research concludes that there is a practical gap between solid theoretical legal texts and actual media practices, especially within the complex context of digitalization and web broadcasting. This necessitates clarifying regulatory concepts, strengthening the actual independence of regulatory bodies, and activating specialized professional training for media personnel
