dc.description.abstractThis ethnobotanical study was carried out with the aim of identifying the main medicinal plants used in local phytotherapy to treat nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis (Kidney stone disease). The ethnobotanical survey done in the region of Ain Temouchent during a period of 3 months (between March 2021 and May 2021) based on a questionnaire, objective and simple, with 40 persons (23 men and 17 women aged between 43 and 77 years and have different levels of study), this study allowed to list 10 different species belonging to 6 botanical families (Apiaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Fabaceae, Lamiaceae, Poaceae and Rutaceae) subdivided according to their biological activities on urolithiasis in litho-lytics 40% and diuretics 60%. The major mode of employment is the decoction followed by infusion and maceration, some species are taken raw or as juice. The aerial parts (leaves, flowers and stem) is the most used parts (40%) Followed by the seeds (20%), the other parts (represent the remaining 40%). The mode of administration of these medicinal plants is 100% by the oral administration; it is beneficial to drink a good amount of water.en_US
