Abstract

The thesis on social reflection in EzzedineJellaouji's novel ""Ras al-Mahna"" was studied from two perspectives. The theoretical aspect addressed the explanation of certain concepts related to the novel, such as the definition of the system and context, then the explanation of the theory of the novel and Lucian Guldaman's worldview. It then addressed the theory of social reflection in literature and the signs of the social dimension in literary production, explaining the novelistic discourse and representing ideology. As for the applied aspect, it was an analysis of the novel ""Ras al-Mahla"" ""1+1=0"" and a study of the narrative structure, an extraction of linguistic characteristics and a study of the dimensions of the novel to show that it addressed the ordeal of Algeria in the 90s, and presented a critical vision of the social, political and cultural reality through the narration and the profound events of the suffering of poetry at that time and the complex interactions between individuals and society due to successive crises and a conclusion summarizing the most important results.
