Résumé
In the context of growing urban connectivity demands, Fiber To The Home (FTTH) stands out as a key solution to deliver high-speed digital services to households and businesses. This thesis, entitled “Modeling and Simulation of an FTTH Network for High-Speed Connectivity in Urban Areas”, presents a comparative study of two WDM-PON architectures (star and tree topologies). Simulations were carried out using OptiSystem, focusing on three critical parameters : launch power, transmission distance, and bit rate.
Performance metrics, including Q-factor, BER, and eye diagram analysis, highlight the
superior performance of the star topology, making it more suitable for dense urban
environments. This work contributes technical guidelines to optimize the deployment of high-,performance FTTH access networks.
