Abstract
Energy security and environmental constraints are a significant challenge for the economic and social development
across the planet. The building of tomorrow must be part of a sustainable resource-efficient. This home wants
quality, it is sustainable, adapted to the climate and preserved of the environment. Nevertheless we must act urgently
on existing buildings, to maintain the park and to prevent degradation even faster which will only exacerbate the
housing crisis. Improving the energy performance of these buildings is an obvious approach: the existing building
constituting a savings deposit. The insulation of buildings is clearly a key element of the overall response to this
problem.
To contribute to this research, we are interested in this study to the thermal characteristics of a building; located in
the city of Tlemcen in the west of Algeria with a hot and dry summer, cold and wet winter.
The work began with an experimental monitoring database buildup, and has made calculations of heat loss by basing
all the laws and thermal regulations (see DTR) and finally we decided to made to energy renovation solutions.
The final advantage is a conclusion with recommendations based on our example our existing thermal regulations
limiting the neglect of this important field and to learn from the experiences
