dc.description.abstractCutinases (E.C. 3.1.1.74) are serine carboxylic ester hydrolases, that degrade cutin, an insoluble aliphatic polyester excreted from the plant cuticle. Theses enzymes are used in various industrial sectors such as the food, agriculture, detoxification, dairy product, textile, laundry, chemicals, and pharmaceutical industry. Cutinases are produced by phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria. However, little is known about bacterial cutinases. Several features of a promising host for industry and plant biomass valorization of Pseudomonas putida bacteria have been demontrated like its remarkably versatile metabolism, its unique capacity to adapt to harsh environmental conditions, and to resist to difficult redox reactions, industrial solvents, and oxidative stresses. The aim of this work was to characterize cutinases from P. putida by using bioinformatics tools. Therefore, the detailed in silico analysis of four cutinase proteins was performed with respect to their physicochemical properties, subcellular localization, solubility prediction, and peptide signal prediction, secondary and tertiary structure predictions based on homology modeling approach and functional analysis. This study contributes in structural and functional properties understanding of the cutinases from P. putida allowing their wide production and exploiting in various industrial sectors.en_US
