Abstract

In this research, we dealt will the manifestation of the autobiographical pact in Symphony of Suffering by Mostafa Fassi. The autobiographacal pact is regarded as a Contract established between the writer, the reader, and it is fulfilled within the autobiography through the identifiction of the narrator , the author and the main character.and this is also reinforced by the use of narrative pronouns: the third-person pronoun (“he”), the first-person pronoun (“I”), and the second-person pronoun (“you”). Symphony of Suffering is an autobiography that shares features with many prose genres such as the novel, the short story, memoirs, and other literary forms. Mostafa Fassi wrote it to recount the story of his life and reveal aspects of his personality in a duality that blends truth and fiction, making himself both the narrator and the protagonist of the work.
