dc.description.abstractThis dissertation explores the ideas of sexuality and monasticism in the most controversial novel The Monk by Mathew Gregory Lewis. The research paper explores two ideas. The purpose of the research is to examine the clash between monastic life and sexuality. Generally, is focused on the relation between the monk and sexuality, and how it is hard and harmful to live fulfilled sexual desires.en_US
