L’usage du français langue étrangère dans les milieux urbaines et les milieux semi- arides : étude comparative entre les milieux universitaires d’Ain Témouchent et de Naâma

Abstract

This dissertation focuses on the use of French as a foreign language (FFL) among university students in urban and rural contextes . The study aimes to compare language practices , levels of FFLproficiency , as well as the motivations and challenges faced by students in these two environments . The results reveal significant disparities between the two settings . urban students benefit from more frequent exposure to French in their daily environment , wheareas rural students face difficulties related to a sociolinguistic context that is less conducive to the practice of FFL.
