The current study attempts to verify the effectiveness of translanguaging in Algerian EFL classrooms to improve the students capacities for learning English. The purpose of this study is to verify whether Algerian teachers incorporate the use of the first language into their classrooms or not. it also examined how they included this method and what were the benefits of its inclusion. Therefore, the sample of this study was some Algerian EFL teachers from different educational systems:middle, high and also some private schools teachers. and through the use of two research instruments, including a questionnaire and an interview, the data was analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively.
