The available data on water quality reveal that most of the water resources in Algeria are polluted by uncontrolled discharges of municipal wastewater and untreated industrial effluents. A work plan has been adopted for an evaluation of the bacteriological and physicochemical quality of the water of the Ain Temouchent beaches from three beaches (Chatt ElWard, Chatt El-Hillel, Madrid Beach). The water samples were taken during the month of March of the year 2020, according to standardized methods, for physicochemical and bacteriological monitoring. The processes of bacterial enumeration of beach waters have shown that the waters of the bathing beaches of the city of Ain Temouchent have a good bacteriological and physicochemical quality. In general, it was found that the waters of the beaches studied conformed to Algerian standards. For this reason, rigorous monitoring of the waters of these beaches must be carried out throughout the annual cycle and by specialized people, which will allow for good bio-monitoring of these ecosystems.en_US
