| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the manifestations of metafiction in the novel Hayzia: The Sad Melody of the Desert by Mujahid Nasser, through an analysis of the awareness of writing and the mechanisms of narrative construction within the text. It aims to explore the forms and functions of metafictional discourse in highlighting the relationship between the author, the text, and the reader, while focusing on the technique of polyphony and its role in producing meaning and enriching narrative significance. The study concludes that the novel employs metafiction and multiple voices as artistic devices that contribute to the reconstruction of the folk tale within a modern narrative framework where historical and fictional dimensions intersect. This endows the text with aesthetic and semantic depth and reflects a clear awareness of the act of writing and the processes of narration. | |
