Abstract
The reuse of treated wastewater is a voluntary and planned action that aims to produce
additional quantities of water for different uses. In Algeria, the use of treated wastewater
for the irrigation of agricultural land is still in the "embryonic" state and is only practiced
on very small areas and often on an experimental basis. The main objective of this work is
to know the regulatory framework governing the use of unconventional water from the Ain
Témouchent wastewater treatment plant, its production capacities, the quality of the treated
water at the outlet and the possibility of reuse in agricultural land irrigation. The results of
this study present an ecological, environmental, and technical-economic advantage that can
be exploited in controlled irrigation, for a specific type of crop which is cereals
