Résumé

In this research, we studied the phenomenon of household consumption and income in Algeria. In its theoretical part, this study addresses the concepts related to consumption and income, highlighting the relationship between them and reviewing the most important explanatory theories. As for the empirical part, a questionnaire administered to a sample of 121 individuals from various socioeconomic groups was utilized for data collection. The data were descriptively analyzed using the SPSS software, aiming to explain household consumption behavior in Algeria in light of income levels. The results demonstrated a positive impact of income levels on the volume of consumer spending. Furthermore, it was found that low-income groups allocate most of their income to cover necessary and basic expenses. The study also indicated that there are other factors influencing consumption levels, including family size, educational level, and the number of individuals contributing to household expenses.
