Abstract
This study aimed to highlight the theoretical and practical importance of the concept of transformational leadership, as one of the modern theories that seeks to improve performance and develop human resources within institutions. The focus was on its role in reducing job burnout and enhancing emotional intelligence in the workplace. The reality of
transformational leadership behavior within the Algerian Water Resources Institution was revealed through the distribution of a questionnaire within the institution. Additionally, the data was analyzed using SPSS software as a tool to survey the opinions of the study sample, with 75 questionnaires collected.
The study results showed that the leaders within the institution practice transformational leadership behaviors at a relatively high level, which positively reflects on the psychological
well-being of employees. The data indicated an inverse relationship between the level of transformational leadership and levels of job burnout, as leaders who exhibit transformational behaviors contribute to alleviating psychological stress and reducing feelings of professional
exhaustion among their subordinates. The results also suggest that the effectiveness of transformational leadership largely depends on the leader's ability to employ emotional intelligence by understanding employees' feelings, empathizing with them, and motivating them in ways that reduce psychological burnout and foster a healthy work environment.
